The pianist Jonathan Zydek, born in Rüdesheim am Rhein, received his first piano lessons from his father Damian Zydek. As a student at the Folkwang University of the Arts in the piano class of Prof. Boris Bloch and Prof. Till Engel, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2015 and his Master’s degree in „Professional Performance“ in 2019 with honors.

Jonathan Zydek is a scholarship holder of the Lions Club Essen Werethina, multiple German scholarship holder and member of the Live Music Now project of Yehudi Menuhin, winner of the main prize of the Köhler-Osbahr competition of the city of Duisburg, winner of the Dr. Alfred Hoff special prize for young pianists, winner of the „Virtuosen von Morgen“, double winner of the „High Potential Classix“ and first prize winner 2015 of Steinway Düsseldorf.

Jonathan Zydek has given concerts at the Philharmonie Essen, the Theater am Marienturm (TaM) Duisburg, the German Embassy in Prague, the Philharmonie Bucharest, the Beethovenhalle Bonn and has played with various orchestras such as the Duisburg Philharmonic, the Camerata Berlin, the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz and the Amadé Chamber Orchestra. He was a finalist of the German Piano Open Berlin and was among the best 12 candidates of the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn 2017. He was also one of the finalists of the German Music Council Competition 2017.

His ongoing collaboration with renowned artistic personalities such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Dmitri Bashkirov, Hatto Beyerle, Willem Brons, Dirk Mommertz, Wladimir Kharin, Andreas Reiner, Kai Schumacher, Evgueni Sinaiski, Henri Sigfridsson and Pavel Vernikov has set standards and stimulated his artistic development. As a guest at various festivals such as the „Klavierfestival Ruhr“, „Sandstein und Musik“, „Klassik in deinem Kiez“, Jonathan Zydek regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician in various formations.
